One of the most popular sessions at the last 3D SUMMIT, Ms. Jones, noted research analyst will once again open this year’s program with a world wide over view of the status of 3D. Shoot it in 3D, convert from 2D, use CG animation or even motion capture to render a 3D film. However the creator chooses to tell the story, the technology is there to elevate the experience to the highest levels. Their concerns ranged from quality of presentation to who would pay for the installation. While the quality and financial issues appear to be overcome the roll out is still slow in coming. Panel Session: Producers Panel On any given film, the producer makes the big decisions. They set the budget, approve of casting and sign off on whether to make the film in 3D — choices that carry both creative and financial consequences. We have assembled a range of producers who took the ambitious route of releasing films in 3D, as well as some of the 3D supervisors who help them adapt to a format that can often be daunting for first-timers. Together then will address the question, "Why make a movie in 3D?" and once the decision is made, "Now what?"

Panel Session: Technology, Techniques and Post Production When the film is shot in 3D it is different. It has two views of everything, the left and the right. While we are all comfortable living with reconciling two eye views editing a film with them can be challenging. Some say editing 3D is considerably more difficult than shooting in 3D. This panel will explore that question and with the experience of the panelists will answer all post production fears and questions. This will be a panel to put to rest concerns of 3D post production.
